Are We Free Yet?

A site dedicated to property rights in general and OSU's use of eminent domain in particular.

General Topics

Oklahoma State University (OSU) has decided that it will need more land for "future and current projects". This land is the area bounded by Monroe to the West, Knoblock to the East, Hall of Fame to the south, and Mclroy to the north. Map The area from Connell south is in the first phase. When asked what these projects are you are told that this has not be decided on yet, and in the mean time we will be putting in gravel lots. Instead of trying to buy the property outright, OSU is instead making a fairly average offer then telling you that if you do not accept they are going to start condemnation hearing in exercise of their power of eminent domain.
As an Alumnus I have to ask does this really put the University in the best light?
